Common Craft Breakdown-Approved!

In watching the Common Craft videos, "fandangled" social media elements were broken down into a most familiar model that convey simplicity and common sense to the task.  It was educational, entertaining, and extremely creative.  It makes me feel a tad less intimidated that I won't need to use all elements of social media that we review but some will be used on a daily basis.  More less, we will need to be familiar with all and truly "know" the ends and outs of a relative few in comparison.  This is how I'm receiving the info if that's correct...better to know a few of these mediums at mastery level than a bunch at level 1 status I would suppose.  Enclosed is a pic of the hope diamond... to give us hope for continued success in this course! Don't worry I was allowed to take the picture. (O:

  1. Few people (including me) know all of these tools really well. (I know what the tools do quite well, but I don't use them all daily -- and they're what I study.)

The "right mix" is a personal thing -- kind of like the perfect meal. We'd all choose something different, and even when we might choose the same thing there might be variations on the theme.

Sticking with food as an analogy, I do think it's good to always take what we call in my household the "no thank you" bite. You don't know if you don't like it if you haven't had a bite. If you've had a bit and decide it's not for you, then you are free to walk away.

I know it feels like you're all flying solo a lot here, but that's because I can't tell you how you should use these tools. I can just make the introductions and give some friendly nudges :)

Hang in there. See how you feel in 2 weeks. I'm guessing you'll feel a lot more empowered -- hopefully satisfied with the tools you're using and not too concerned about the ones you're not.
